The Air-Matic™ Series of crimping applicators features Artos unique integrated Smoothfeed™ pneumatic feed system.

The SmoothfeedTM pneumatic feed system offers superior performance over comparable mechanical feed die units by allowing for feeding of the terminal after the crimping process is completed, and not relying on the crimping press ram to activate the terminal feed. This feature reduces potential misfeeds common to mechanical feed systems by allowing for independent control of the terminal feed cycle from the press cycle. Additionally, the setting of the feeding stroke and pick-up location is easily adjusted by simply setting the stop nuts on the linear slide. The compact pneumatic cylinder, actuation valve and air duct are fully integrated into the body of the die unit, offering the most economical design available. Pneumatic feed also improves crimp monitor systems by eliminating force “noise” caused from the feeding cams in mechanical die units.
