SSC-500 Multi-Wire Seal/Strip/Crimp

BROOKFIELD, Wis., Feb. XX, 2017 – Artos Engineering Company, a Brookfield-based manufacturer of wire processing equipment, has introduced the SSC-500 Multi-Wire Seal/Strip/Crimp for fully-automated weather sealing, stripping and crimping two or more wires at a time or processing of each step individually.

The unit, for jacketed cables, twisted-pair wires and other multi-wire applications,

features built-in quality controls. The SSC-500 prequalifies wire ends with a zero-cut process; a Crimp Force Monitor (CFM) inspects each crimp for defects. In addition, a laser wire color sensor ensures that the correct wire is inserted. An integrated LED light provides maximum visibility.

The SSC-500 also offers easy touch-panel operation, with storage and recall of all part parameters. A scanner enables quick loading of parts.

The new system maximizes productivity with quick change-overs of the terminals and seal. A separate waste collection system with carrier waste cutter and paper take-up speed clean-up.

“The SSC-500 allows for optimum flexibility and provides a full range of processing capabilities.” says John Olsen II, Artos Engineering Company president. “We’re confident that the new system will boost product throughput and operator productivity.”

A foot pedal is available for additional control. The SSC-500 can share tooling with a fully automatic machine, such as the ASM-400. The new unit uses the same seal feeding system, pin and tube and only requires the addition of a special funnel system.
