SERVO-DRIVEN TU-16 FOR EASY CLOSED BARREL CRIMPING
ARTOS ENGINEERING INTRODUCES SERVO-DRIVEN TU-16 FOR EASY CLOSED BARREL CRIMPING
BROOKFIELD, Wis., June 14, 2016 – Artos Engineering Company, a Brookfield-based manufacturer of wire processing equipment, has introduced the new servo-driven TU-16 Bench-top Crimping System to provide a new level of performance, quality and control in bench-top crimping.
“With the servo-driven TU-16, we’ve achieved the next level in bench top crimping systems,” says John Olsen II, Artos Engineering Company president. “We’ve combined ease of adjustment, effortless changeovers and automatic quality control so that our customers can maximize productivity.”
The TU-16’s servo drive system allows a quick change from a standard single cycle to a split cycle operation, for effortless insertion of wires into closed barrel terminals by repeating an accurate position of the terminal barrel for reduced variation. The capture position of the press is easily learned by simply jogging the press to the desired location, and the TU-16 retains that position in memory. The operation stroke is also easily adjusted from 40 to 30mm with the flip of a switch.
Designed for use in low-volume runs, custom wire configurations and as an automatic system applicator die test unit, the TU-16 features an integrated LED light source focused on the work area and an easy-open safety shield for tool-free access to the quick-release die. Quiet electronic controls offer both a forward and reverse jog mode for set-up and resetting of the crimping unit; an optional crimp force monitor ensures crimp consistency and quality and an optional micro-adjust crimp height handles sizes down to 0.0001 inch.
The TU-16 also serves as a complement to machines such as the Artos Cr.22, as it enables efficient testing and debugging of the applicator die set-up before the settings are replicated on a large automated system.
The quiet electronic control operates on a simple and accessible single-phase 220-volt supply and the TU-16 includes a standard pneumatic feed kit for operation of air-feed applicators.
